 The development process in Indonesia has undergone fundamental changes. Economic crisis and political reform has been encouraging people to engage actively in developing their areas independently.
Decentralization and regional autonomy makes region especially the District and the City spearheading the development in the future (Region Government Law : No. 32/2004), including Spatial Planning (Law on National Development Planning System: No.. 25/2004 and Law Spatial Planning: No. 26/2007) Human resources capabilities improvement will be a necessity in Regional Development.
A good Regional and Urban Planning is a fundamental requirement for local governments for development. From estimation the needs of planners at the district and city is about 15,000 and had been fullfilled approximately 30%.
Diploma in Regional and Urban Planning aims to bring out graduate who expert in Regional and Urban Planning. Our graduate will be employed by local goverments, private companies, NGOs or development consultants.
In order to strengthen the education system and the internationalization of curriculum, We have made curriculum changes in the 2007 academic year in accordance with international curriculum standards. Curriculum structure has been adjusted to the vision, mission and educational goals.
